Education
Our campus in Münchberg offers a unique education in Germany because of the relationship between the economy and the Textile and Design programs. Companies of upper Franconia also benefit from the centers of excellence and institutes at the University. The three research institutes concentrate on information systems, materials science and water and energy management. The Institute for Continuing Education offers both full-time and part-time degree programs. The Bavarian-Indian Centre for Business and University Cooperation, which is affiliated to the University, boosts cooperation between Bavaria and India.
Research
Research is the planned quest for new insights, in contrast to accidental discoveries, and systematic scientific documentation and publication.
Applied Research means generating knowledge from already existing knowledge and available facts and generally refers to a particular practical, often technical, problem which should be investigated in an interdisciplinary manner.
Career
The Career Service of Hof University has been available to students since the winter of 2011. As a service facility, we offer a wide range of professional preparation and orientation services. Our goal is to support students with information, counseling and qualification, to enable them to independently create a goal-oriented career path.

The International Office is responsible for developing, fostering and intensifying our international relations. We are the most important contact point for all international students and lecturers seeking information about the university and the city. We also provide information about partner universities, study and exchange possibilities, research opportunities and scholarships.
Housing services
Accommodation in Hof is available in our student dormitories or on the private market. You will have to allow around EUR 200 - 350 for rent (plus additional costs for water, heating and electricity) for a room and EUR 300-400 for rent (plus additional costs) for a one-room apartment, which is quite reasonable in comparison to other German towns and cities.
Library services
The library offers literature and information for all university members and interested guest users. Main topics of the stock are business, law, computer science, technology and design as well as other subjects. Even general scientific or general reference titles are available in stock.

The University of Applied Sciences Hof consists of the Hof and Münchberg campuses.
Sports facilities
Hof University provides a wide range of leisure sports, offering diversification, fun and the opportunity to create balance in the demanding lives of students. Furthermore, athletics is a great way to meet new people.
Sports facilities like a double-size gym, tennis court, all-weather pitch, bowling alleys, a beach volleyball court, a fitness training room and fitness equipment can be used by all students. In addition, many sports classes are offered, which are gratefully received by students and university staff.
Student clubs
A university thrives on the various activities of its students. Within the framework of numerous social clubs, such as the Student Union, the Hofer Counseling Group or the International team, there are many opportunities for students to become engaged outside of normal study. There are opportunities to learn responsibility, and to develop individual initiative and organizational talent. Furthermore, the friendships and networks cultivated during this time last far beyond one’s time at university.
The University of Applied Sciences Hof is system accredited. We are at your disposal for questions, advice and support of specific activities. The subject of the program accreditation are individual bachelor's and master's degree programs.
