INTO University of East Anglia

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a top British university located in Norwich, UK. The INTO Centre on campus offers unique pathway programmes to international students that lead to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at UEA. INTO students live and study in the INTO Centre, which contains everything you need to live happily and comfortably.

History

The University of East Anglia was established in 1963 in Norwich, UK and is designed like a mini-city, balancing the calm of nature with the excitement of a city. In 2006, UEA partnered with INTO to help international students study at the campus. Together, they created unique courses that help overseas students get accustomed to British life and improve their English language and academic skills.

Education

Combining critical thinking with creative practice, an education at UEA is like no other. Your classroom learning can be tested with placement opportunities and you’ll be able to access international and national employers for valuable real-world experiences. Start with an English language course or an International Foundation, International Year One or International Graduate Diploma in anything from Business, Economics, International Development and Mathematics, to Humanities and Law, Psychology, Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Engineering at INTO UEA. Once you successfully complete your pathway, you’ll progress to UEA to study a degree in the subject(s) you are passionate about.

Research

At UEA, anything is possible when progressive and innovative people get together. Linked to the Norwich Research Park – the most cited collaborative research site outside of London, Cambridge and Oxford – the University leads the way in fields as diverse as Healthy Living and Ageing; Rethinking Society; Securing Energy, Food and Water; and Understanding Human and Natural Environments. Short Courses

Student services

The Student Services team in the INTO Centre will support you in every way during your studies, from the moment you arrive to the moment you graduate. They will be there for any issues ranging from renewing your visa and opening a bank account, to making new friends and settling into the local area. The Welfare team in the Courtyard Office regularly put on movie nights, trips around the UK and even run sessions to help you manage your anxiety around exam season. When you progress to the University, there is a special International Student Advisory team in the Student Support Service who will help you to meet with current international students to offer help and guidance.

Housing services

INTO UEA students can choose to live on campus in INTO accommodation or with carefully selected homestay hosts. If you decide to live on campus, you’ll have a private study bedroom with an en suite bathroom in the INTO building and share a kitchen with other INTO students. If you choose to buy a meal plan with your accommodation, you’ll have two meals cooked for you in the on-site restaurant every day.

Campus life

UEA is a self-contained university just two miles outside of the city of Norwich – a lively student city full of energy and entertainment. Everything you need is in easy reach here, including a small supermarket, a bank, a post office, a bookshop and a medical centre. As an INTO student living as part of UEA’s dynamic campus community, you get to enjoy some fantastic study and leisure facilities that the University has to offer. Visit the 24/7 library to find essential materials for your studies, head over to the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts to appreciate the creative aspects of the campus, go to the Students’ Union to join a society and have some fun with friends in the University’s club venue, the LCR.

Sports facilities

Sport is an important part of student life at UEA. That’s why the University invested £30 million into creating one of the biggest indoor sports centres in England: the Sportspark. You can join a wide variety of sports club at the University and take advantage of:

  • A 50m Olympic-sized swimming pool
  • An indoor fitness centre with cardio equipment and weight stack machines
  • Two large indoor arenas with badminton, basketball and volleyball courts
  • An eight-lane, international-standard athletics track
