Research

The research projects at IHI Zittau are funded by the European Union, the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Environmental Foundation (DBU), the State of Saxony, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), to name a few. In today’s world the acquisition of external funding is absolutely necessary for a university to maintain high quality in its research and, consequently, in its teaching as well.

Career

Jobbing is possible in different variations but it can affect other financial aid or the amount receivedfrom the other sources. Basically students work mostly in “Minijobs”, at the university (SHK, WHK)or sometimes as self-employed. For tax purposes, it is useful to take a job for less than 450 Euros amonth, where no tax, health and unemployment contributions are deducted. Foreign students, depending on the country of origin, may have some work restrictions.
