History

Since 1958, California State University, Northridge has been elevating Los Angeles and beyond. The university’s commitment to student success, inclusive excellence and service to the community has made it a national model for institutions of higher learning.

Education

Our nine colleges offer 60 baccalaureate degrees, 41 master's degrees, 28 credentials in the field of education, and various opportunities in extended learning and other special programs.

Research

The mission of the CSUN Office of Institutional Research is to support and collaborate with campus stakeholders in making data-informed decisions related to university priorities and strategic planning. In support of this mission, IR provides university data to meet reporting requirements, communicates relevant data to the campus community, offers data literacy training and education to university stakeholders, and support university leadership by providing data and related analytic tools.

Career

The Career Center at CSUN offers career exploration and advisement along with job-search strategies to students and eligible alumni. By providing guidance on choosing a major and advice on how to make decisions, set goals and plan, the Career Center helps students advance on their career paths.

Student services

Housing services

This is not just another place to live. The office of Student Housing and Conference Services is a gateway to the complete California State University, Northridge experience. Convenience, safety, academic assistance and constant support are qualities that make living at CSUN a great choice.

Student Housing exists to promote individual development, academic success and conscientious citizenship amongfuture and current residents through its facilities, services and programs. Student Housing also provides the resourcesstudents need to foster respectful and responsible living in a learning environment.

Library services

The California State University, Northridge's Oviatt Library provides educational, cultural and information services and resources to the students, faculty, and the community. Its primary mission is to support and supplement classroom and independent learning and provide students with lifelong skills in identifying, locating, evaluating and synchronizing information.

ICT services

Eduroam grants you access to the Internet without having to log in every time! Following a one-time setup, connect to the "eduroam" wireless network anywhere on campus, or anytime you visit an eduroam-member institution, which includes several CSUs and other universities throughout the U.S. and the world.

Medical services

Klotz Student Health Center - Our college health specialists at the Klotz Student Health Center are ready to welcome you at your next appointment. Klotz physicians are board-certified in family medicine, internal medicine, sports medicine, gynecology and a variety of other areas.

Campus life

Are you living the Matador life to the fullest? Whether you’re looking for services, leadership experience or just someone who you can connect with, resources including the Pride Center, the Klotz Student Health Center and the Student Recreation Center can help. 

Sports facilities

The Student Recreation Center is a 138,000 square foot facility for exercise and leisure activity that promotes lifelong health and wellness. The eco-friendly has got it all — the most up-to-date equipment, a friendly and welcoming staff, and tons of school spirit! Are you ready to play Matadors?

Group Exercise Classes - Members may register for their favorite SRC group exercise class as early as one day in advance. All group exercise classes have a limited capacity. Online registration will close 10 minutes prior to the class start time. Only in-person registration will be accepted from that point at the Total Training Zone desk.
