The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya offers you a highly personalised university education with a strong vocational element.
This high level of personalised treatment is achieved by ensuring that there is: no more than one group per course; a maximum of 80 students per lecture, and one university professor assigned to every eleven students. The teaching staff, as well as delivering vital academic training, are also dedicated to providing students with advice and guidance throughout their studies.
A high proportion (40%) of the teaching programme is set aside for practical-based classes. Most of our teachers have professional backgrounds and the university nurtures a very close relationship with business via its work experience programmes. The aim is to equip the student with all the knowledge, skills and talents demanded by the market, while also providing a solid training in the fundamental values of Christian Humanism.
The international character of the university is a basic feature and also a necessary one for students. In this respect, 10% of our alumni are from overseas; students study English courses which are personalised to meet their academic and professional requirements and there is an extensive international exchange programme.
All of these features described above allow students to make the most of the university's resources (both in terms of material and human resources). This in turn allows them to get the most out of their chosen university studies and face the world of work with confidence.
The UIC organises a wide range of cultural, recreational and sport activities in an attempt to encourage the full personal development of students.
This is the commitment the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya makes to all its students. It is a university where you can experience your degree in the most intense way possible, at the highest academic level.

The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya's Student Services informs, advises and manages paperwork and extra-curricular issues for students during their time at the university.
One of its main objectives is to enhance relations between students and the university and also promoting various cultural, social and athletic events. A wide variety of activities and services are offered to help make students time at university all the more enriching, useful and enjoyable.
At the beginning of the academic year, Student Services organise a Welcome session for all first year students. At this event new students are offered words of welcome by the Rector of the university.
The first part of this session involves a general description of the UIC and a brief presentation of all the various university services (student services, sport services, international relations and professional strategies etc). This presentation involves a general description of the services, what they consist of, and the type of information and activities they provide.
In the second part of the session, students are divided into groups so they can have more personalised attention, then workshops are carried out in order to describe the IT related characteristics of the university, as well as the library, quality and monitoring related aspects in more detail.
Students are also given a session which is specific to each faculty.
Some of the cultural events organised by Student Services include holding outdoor concerts on the Barcelona Campus, coordinating theatrical and musical productions, celebrating theme weeks, and hosting a poetry, narrative and musical contest for Sant Jordi, open to all university students.
Student Services is also responsible for managing grant and aid applications.
Many organisations offer scholarships or grants. Some of these might help you to study for a Short Course at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya!
