Overview
Nowadays, large companies operate on a global scale and must comply with the respective national legal systems. Therefore, basic knowledge is essential in the field of European data protection law, antitrust law, intellectual property law, as well as corporate and capital markets law.
The intention of this Augsburg Summer Program from University of Augsburg is to impart knowledge in the basic framework of transnational Economic Law through lectures and examination courses in order to meet the increasing requirements of companies and law firms in this field. All of the lectures and talks will be offered in English .
Program's purpose
- The program aims at advancing students' understanding of economic law. The provided courses allow students to deepen their knowledge in legal areas such as company law and contact law as well as private international law. Particular issues are discussed in the context of German, European and international law.
- Further, a couple of introductory classes offer an opportunity to make first steps in new areas of law. An introductory course on German Law is offered for students from abroad. The Program’s participants have also an opportunity to attend a German language course.
- Additionally, the participants of the Summer Program are welcomed to attend the "Talks of Practitioners". Lawyers of international law firms, legal advisers of international firms and other experts focus on selected problems of international business law in their talks.

General requirements
- Successful completion of the first year of law school. However, we also welcome graduate students interested in an additional qualification in the field of international business law or young professionals.
- Good English skills, as all lectures and tests are held in English. Nevertheless, there is no TOEFL test requirement. The summer program includes an optional German language course.
