You will be introduced to selected topics from social psychology, cognition and individual differences to provide an insight to the way that psychology is taught at university. In each of these areas you will be introduced to contemporary theory and research and will also have an opportunity to get hands-on experience of the techniques used to investigate these topics. The module is suitable for anyone who is considering studying psychology at higher education level or those who are interested in contemporary psychology. Students who (a) successfully complete the necessary assessments to an appropriate standard and (b) are eligible for entry onto a Middlesex University degree course will be guaranteed a place on Middlesex Universitys BSc Psychology course.
Middlesex Summer School also offers this course as part of a Package Programme, combining academic study with an exciting social programme and accommodation. Interactive lectures, small group work and practical classes.
Assessment Scheme:
Coursework (100%): 2 essays and 2 research reports (each 1000 words) along with a pass grade in a basic maths test (compulsory only for students seeking entry onto the degree programme).
