From 23 July to 10 August 2012, BiTS hosts the fourth International Summer School in Iserlohn: Sustainable Mobility & Tourism meets Marketing.
Sustainable Mobility has been a popular and successful program from the start in 2010. Last year it attracted a lot of attention 58 students from 7 countries came to the BiTS Campus to learn about the German approach to Green Technologies and Automotive Management. Lectures on Sourcing and Supply Chain Management, Innovation and Technology, Quality Management, Sustainable Economics and Green Management, all taught by experts with a wealth of experience in those areas, give participants an in-depth impression of the innovative fields.
Tourism meets Marketing, is the exciting topic of the second Summer School. Tourism is one of six important location factors when it comes to the image of a nation and according to the World Tourism Organisation, Germany is the eighth most popular destination world-wide. The lectures and excursions focus on Hotel & Restaurant Management, Service Marketing, and Event Tourism. Participants learn how the German market functions and, among other things, how to do successful city marketing.
The lecture program on the BiTS Campus is complemented by interesting excursions for both Summer Schools in the second week of the program. At the Autostadt in Wolfsburg participants gain an insight into the world of VW, Audi, Lamborghini and Porsche (Branding & Technology). In Hamburg, the Daimler Mobility Concept car to go, a Harbor trip, on site Hotel Marketing and a City Marketing project with a focus on Hamburg as a well-known Musical location are the activities planned for 2012.
Of course, the successful German Survival course, giving the participants a first glimpse of the German language and culture, also features in this years Summer School. The Intercultural Workshop and the related activities give everyone the opportunity to reflect his/her own culture and to exchange ideas on what is typically German.
All in all, along with a strong academic focus in the classroom, participants enjoy a hands-on approach to learning.
