The University’s Tonbridge Centre has been established for over 20 years and offers opportunities for both academic study and bespoke training for local business and government communities.

Part-time courses are available at certificate, diploma and full BA (Hons) degree level. Classes are generally of two hours duration at the same time each week in the daytime or evening. Additionally, a range of short courses and day schools are offered throughout the year as well as a summer programme.

The Centre is developing as a base for the delivery of professional and executive education. In collaboration with the Kent Business School and Kent Enterprise the programme has been launched with a series of free networking sessions on topics relevant to the current business climate.

Services & Facilities

Library and facilities

A collection of books and journals for students’ use is housed at the Tonbridge Centre. Students can borrow books from our library or order books from the University’s other libraries which are delivered via our daily courier service.

IT and computing

The Centre provides student PCs, which are linked to the University network and are equipped for word processing, email and internet access. The Centre staff can help you make the best use of these IT resources. ‘Getting started’ sessions are run at the beginning of term for computing beginners.

Student Learning Advisory Service (SLAS)

The Student Learning Advisory Service offers a free study skills programme at Tonbridge throughout the year and friendly advice, guidance and information on all aspects of effective learning. You can also make use of our online access to careers advice.

Disability and Dyslexia Support Service

Some of the services provided are free and others are funded by student Finance England using the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).

The Disability and Dyslexia Support Service offer support for undergraduate students with physical/mobility difficulties, specific learning difficulties, mental health conditions, sensory impairments and other medical conditions, including:

  • One-to-one support as specified by independent assessors
  • Note taking support as specified by independent assessors
  • Screening for Dyslexia
  • Liaison with academic and other departments
  • Examination arrangements
