  • To analyse and discuss notable examples with special attention to the risk communication aspects
  • To analyse the role of media, internet, scientific journals, independent bulletin of information
  • To measure the effectiveness of risk communication as a minimisation strategy and consider ways of improving its effectiveness

  1. Case studies on communication of medicines risk: HRT and cancer, pandemic influenza vaccines, 3rd generation OC. What can we learn?
  2. Communication aspects based on drug withdrawals: e.g. rofecoxib, rosiglitazione, benfluorex.
  3. How to measure the effectiveness of risk communication
  4. How can we improve risk communication at the different levels (regulatory bodies, pharmaceutical companies, health care professionals, patients)

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

Educational prerequisite for this module certificate programme:

  • Eu2P Certificate in needs and objectives in communication on risk and benefit/risk related to medicines and Eu2P Certificate in challenges in medicine risk communication or equivalent level

This Eu2P Certificate programme specificity also requires trainees to

  • be fluent in English
  • have Internet access and ad hoc computer equipment and be familiar with their use

Funding details
