The Physician Assistant is a health care professional that works under limited supervision of a physician and offers professional medical care.
The Physician Assistant has been introduced in the Netherlands in 2001. In the span of 10 years the Physician Assistant has been accepted as a new and valuable profession. The Physician Assistant contributes to a more efficient health care. At this moment 600 Physician Assistants are active in the Netherlands. They work in almost all medical fields.
This summer course informs you about the implementation and professional education of the Physician Assistant in the Netherlands. You’ll have the opportunity to meet physician assistants, PA educators and physicians.
The program consists of: lectures, workshops, excursions to healthcare institutions and presentations.
Contents
STUDY LOAD
The program of the summer course will consist of a combination of lectures, excursions and workshops. Each course day has a theme and starts at 9:00am with an excursion to healthcare institutions. In the afternoon there will be lectures and workshops. Alumni are also invited to follow the program in the afternoon
IELTS
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Physician Assistant students, Physician Assistants, medical students, physicians, medical educators and professionals with interest or experience in the departments/fields of Physician Assistant and health care.

Accreditation
Responsibility for accreditation lies with the Netherlands-Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO). All degree programmes offered by research universities and universities of applied sciences will be evaluated according to established criteria, and programmes that meet those criteria will be accredited.
