The European Law & Human Rights programme is intended for students who want to add an international element to their law studies or who are interested in the legal framework of human rights in the European Union.
The Specialist courses are taught in English and delivered by leading professionals from Aston University, the City Council and from partner institutions in the city and surrounding region.

The Europainstitute offers newly interdisciplinary certificate courses as a new postgraduate trainig. It leads to a "Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in European Integration". By combining various CAS-modules a "University Professional (UP)" can be achieved optionally. This UP can be topped up, leading to a "Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in European Integration" finally (see display below "Links", margin on the right).

This advanced course is about the practice of European Union Law. Participants receive hands-on insider analysis about the functioning of the European Union. The program is designed to combine seminars on different topics as well as workshops supporting the issues addressed in these seminars or some aspects thereof. The Total Law™ method constitutes the backbone of the program and gives it its exceptional flavor. Developed by the Jean Monnet Center at the New York University School of Law, it relies on contextualization: situating a legal controversy, a court decision, a Treaty provision, a Directive or a Regulation in the broader context.

This course is intended to serve as a bridge between archivists, curators, researchers, legal experts and policymakers whose work deals with digital records, cultural heritage collections and/or open data. Launching an itinerary to reform the political and statutory landscape by uniting the efforts of key stakeholders is one of the broad purposes of the course.

Humboldt University Berlin
This course will deal with the quest for a common asylum policy within the European Union by simulating European decision-making. Asylum policy is one of the most important topics of European policy. After an introduction into how European policy is made and how the European institutions interact, the course will examine the topic of asylum and migration policy in detail. Participants will take up the roles of European policy-makers in a simulation.
Charles University, Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS)
The European Summer School 2012 (ESS 2012) is titled 'Europe at the Crossroads' and focuses on perspectives of the European integration process in this decade, taking the current political and economic crisis of the EU into account. The courses will cover a wide range of topics ranging from the Central European economies to Energy security and climate change issues.
